NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top gold companies were mixed at the close of trading: Barrick Gold fell $1.10 or 3.0 percent, to $35.93. Gold Fields fell $.66 or 4.9 percent, to $12.75. Goldcorp fell $.90 or 2.4 percent, to $36.77. Newmont Mining rose $.46 or 1.1 percent, to $43.46.
